About Hurd Video

Hurd Video Productions was started by John Hurd  in 1989 with his wife, Annette (Hicks) a former figure skating coach, at his side.  John and Annette met at the Ice Capades Chalet in Costa Mesa, CA while he was an assistant manager at the arena and attending California State -  Fullerton pursuing a degree in Radio/TV and Film.  John received a degree in 1987 and they married in 1989.  John recognized a need for high quality video in the skating world and started Hurd Video Productions. 

With Annette working the front table, they shot their first competition, 1989 Ice Capades Chalet in Costa Mesa, CA and there has been no looking back.

Notable events:

• ISI World Championships (1991, 1994, 1999)
• U.S. National Showcase (Valencia, CA 2005)
• U.S. Figure Skating Synchronized Championships (San Diego 1995 and 2004)
• State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships (Los Angeles 2002)
